At least moderate exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. However, losing weight and keeping it off via a rigorous exercise regimen just doesn't work for the majority of people. Sure, you might be able to engage in a physical fitness program and lose a few pounds, short-term. But most people (and I'm no exception), will eventually get bored, fall off the exercise wagon, or simply forego the routine; and be right back where they started: watching the pounds come marching back with a vengeance.

Back in the 70s-80s, an exercise boom spawned vast sub-industries including high-fashion running shoes, spandex workout clothing, aerobic and cardio workout machines and a bevy of "miracle" gadgets and devices. That's not to say all this stuff was bad.

Personally, I dodged the boom, except for a brief bodybuilding phase in the early-eighties. Otherwise, I was quite content avoiding peer pressure; to spend my time running, jumping, exercising and gyrating in an effort to be lean and healthy. Looking back over thirty years of health conscious exercise, the long-term results for many exercise-aficionados isn't at all what it was cracked up to be.

Disadvantages of Exercise!

What is the advantage I have over my actively-exercising peers? Sure, I admire my running, pumping, sweating friends. But at the same time they have a high regard for the fact that I have far fewer, if any, injuries to my knees, shoulders, hips, back, shins, arms, shoulders, neck, legs and feet - and with some of those problems causing permanent damage.

The Chocolate Weight Loss Diet will give you overall better health than rigorous exercise, but without the aches, pains and doctor bills your exercising buddies get.

Exercise makes demands on the body. And those demands can take a heavy toll. Those who exercise as a method of maintaining weight loss, oftentimes discover they must keep increasing their routines in order to make up for the body's ability to adapt and change with age. They may be left with good-looking-but-fragile and worn-out bodies. The results of over-eating AND over-exercise can be disastrous.

And here's why: because most folks are just like you and me - we have good intentions, even pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for the magic equipment - but in the end, all the equipment in the world isn't going to help anyone lose weight or stay in shape, if no one uses it.

So don't feel guilty about placing your dusty, old exercise machine or gadget in your next yard/garage sale. Let some other dreamer pin their high hopes on that piece of equipment… you never know… the person who gets it from you might actually use it.

Now don't get me wrong: if you have the equipment and you use it, or if you look forward to going to the gym and exercising, then by all means, keep going!
